Goodijk is a family business that has been growing broccoli alongside arable farming and dairy farming since the 1980s. Since 2015, it has been run by the fourth and fifth generations: brothers Murk and Wiebe and their sons Edward and Eelco.
Family members also work alongside them: Jacco (Wiebe’s son) is employed, Janke (Wiebe’s wife) does the administration and Djurretta (Wiebe’s daughter) helps with the broccoli cultivation. Eelco runs a dairy farm with his girlfriend Elske at a separate location.
Goodijk is affiliated with Tolpoort Vegetables because of their strong market position and open communication. Innovation is important: in the 1990s, they were the first to use an automatic packing machine, and now they are working on a fully automatic broccoli harvesting machine.
In addition to work, there is time for sports, such as body pump and spinning, and involvement in associations. Firma Goodijk continues to develop and is constantly looking for new opportunities in the sector.
