In addition to farming, there is also time for relaxation. Cycling, cooking and following world politics are major hobbies. For more than 40 years, a special company has been located on the Rikkert in Andijk: N. Sijm & Zn. Here, chicory is grown with passion and dedication. The company’s history began in 1953, when Jan Sijm came to Andijk and started growing various vegetables. In 1959, his son Nic took over and expanded the company. What once began as seasonal cultivation grew over the years into a modern chicory company. Since 1988, brothers Koos and Johan have been running the company, forming the third generation of growers.

In their spare time, the brothers enjoy tinkering with exclusive cars, of which they have an extensive and unique collection.
