Maarten started his own company on January 1, 1998, after he and his brother decided to go their separate ways. Growing has always been in the family; as far back as anyone can remember, a Botman has always been a grower.

Family and partners play an important role within the company. Maarten works together with his son Mark and his sister Marjolein. Roos, Mark’s girlfriend, is also involved in the business.

Together they were among the initiators of Tolpoort Vegetables, with the aim of being closer to the trade, gaining better insight into the process, and working more efficiently while reducing costs.

Alongside work, there is also time for relaxation. Maarten and Mark regularly play tennis together and share a passion for traveling and enjoying good times together.
